Advanced Optimization and Control for Stochastic and Complex Electric Power Systems


Future power systems are complex and uncertain systems with a high penetration of renewables and hybrid AC/DC systems. For secure and smart control, advanced optimization and control methods should be applied. This special session will be focused on advanced optimization and control for stochastic and complex electric power systems. The invited speakers will present their very recent progress on applying advanced optimization and control tools to resolve the security and economic concerns regarding future power system operations.


Organizer: Zhengshuo Li, Shandong University, China

Biography: Zhengshuo Li is Professor with Shandong University, Director of Power System Research Institute, and Deputy Director of Key Laboratory of Power System Intelligent Dispatch and Control of Ministry of Education, China. He received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2011 and 2016, respectively. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Tsinghua Berkeley Shenzhen Institute, Shenzhen, China, and a Research Assistant Professor with Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, USA. He visited Argonne National Laboratory, Lemont, IL, USA, in 2014 and the University of California, Berkeley CA, USA, in 2018. In 2019, he joined Shandong University, Jinan, China. His research interests include the theory and techniques of decentralized and autonomous coordination in renewable power systems and multi-energy systems. Dr. Li is the Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER SYSTEMS and CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems. His PhD. dissertations were honored as Outstanding Dissertations of Tsinghua University.
李正烁,山东大学电力系统研究所所长,教授,博士生导师、齐鲁青年学者,小米青年学者,教育部重点实验室副主任,IEEE Transactions on Power Systems编辑,CSEE JPES青年学科编辑,中国电机工程学会和IEEE高级会员。2011年和2016年分别于清华大学获学士和博士学位,博士论文入选清华优秀博士论文和施普林格优秀博士论文丛书;美国阿贡国家实验室和加州大学伯克利分校访问学者,2019年入职山东大学电气工程学院。主要研究方向为电力和综合能源系统优化调度、电力市场等。主持和参与国家和省部级重要科研项目课题10余项,发表SCI和EI论文118篇,专著2部,引用4000次,连续入选全球前2%顶尖科学家全球年度科学影响力排行榜;授权国际国内发明专利30余项,转化4项。培养的学生获IEEE电力与能源学会杰出学生奖、山东大学校长奖、国际会议优秀论文等荣誉。
